Highly skilled in databases and web programming they often know little of designing maps.

I agree this is some if not most of the case, but there is quite a bit of non-programmers who also use the public mapping tools to create mash ups and push pin maps with little or no geographic experience.avanwierenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01998733180649569792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-47896653854399647.post-80692257799732278682007-08-09T17:29:00.000+01:002007-08-09T17:29:00.000+01:00Nederkaart,Yes, I agree that there is a new style ...Nederkaart,

Yes, I agree that there is a new style of map making appearing. I find some issues with Chilton's comments in his definition of NeoGeographers and feel he is missing the point a little bit. I have posted additional comments on my site below.

Neogeographers and Neogeography Oh My!!!

He does raise some good points though about attitudes from traditional cartographers toward GIS and new mediums and I have to agree a bit that we as a geography community are responsible for educating and informing as well as shaping the face of this new geography.avanwierenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01998733180649569792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-47896653854399647.post-15307492545662791142007-08-08T13:34:00.000+01:002007-08-08T13:34:00.000+01:00Great interview.
